Maqadi is in beta. This guide describes how the app works for beta stores; details may still change before launch.
Payments
Maqadi never takes payments itself. Every payment goes through your store's own checkout, to your store, with the methods you already accept.
Two ways to pay
| Way | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Automatic card charge | The customer saves a card at the first checkout. On each renewal date, Maqadi starts the renewal and Salla charges the saved card, then creates the order and the invoice. | Customers who want it fully hands-off. |
| Payment link | Before each renewal, Maqadi creates the order in your store as awaiting payment and sends the customer a link. The customer pays it in your normal checkout. | Customers who prefer not to save a card. |
Payment links are included in the Pro and Business plans. They are sent by email; sending by WhatsApp needs a messaging provider, which we will name on the app privacy page before it is switched on.
Which payment methods work
- Automatic charges need a card saved by your store's checkout. Which cards and wallets can be charged automatically depends on your store's payment setup. During the beta we confirm this for your store before your first subscriber.
- Payment links open your normal checkout, so the customer can use any method your store accepts there.
- Cash on delivery and buy now, pay later (for example Tabby or Tamara) can't be charged automatically. Customers who use them can still subscribe and pay each order by link.
Where the money goes
Straight to your store, exactly like a normal order. Maqadi doesn't hold, split or delay payments and charges no commission. Your plan is billed separately through the app store; see plans and billing.
Card data
Card numbers are handled by your store's checkout. Maqadi keeps only a reference to the subscription and never sees or stores card data. See data and security.
If a charge fails, Maqadi tries again and tells the customer. There is no interest and no late fee. See failed payments.
